Water Quality
Many projects are in the works at the moment for the Jacks Fork Watershed Committee. I’ve been working on feasibility studies for local businesses to get an idea if installing a dump station or upgrading their current system should be done. Cost Share programs are available in certain areas of the Jacks Fork Watershed and I am working with Shannon County SWCD as well as MDC.
Water Education/Junior Ranger Day at Alley will be April 27th this year and things are coming along well. Quality Water Means Quality Life poster contest with Texas County SWCD has just wrapped up and winners are in the process of being announced.
Two river clean-ups are scheduled in June on the Jacks Fork and Upper Current Rivers.

Without quality water, we wouldn’t have quality life. I’m currently working with the Jacks Fork Watershed Committee in the Shannon County area. This committee is dedicated to educate, inform, preserve, protect, and promote water quality and recreation of the Jacks Fork River and watershed.
Currently, the Jacks Fork Watershed Committee has a 319 grant through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. I am working on many projects at this time with hopes to reduce the negative impact of everyday life.
Throughout our area, we have many beautiful, clear rivers and streams. They are famous for canoeing and floating. However, our Karst geology with its accompanying sink holes mandates extra care and caution both on the surface and sub-surface. Jacks Fork Watershed
